The type of psoriasis you have is determined by the appearance and location of the sleions. There are three main forms of psoriasis nad a fourth which is uncommon and questionable as to its relationship to psoriasis. The three main forms of psoriasis are discoid, guttate and flexural.

It is believed that up to 50% of people affected with psoriasis will experience some degree of nail psoriasis. This is a chronic problem that usually affects the fingernails but can also affect the toenails.

Arthritic Psoriasis

The symptoms of psoriatic arthritis are similar to those of rheumatoid arthritis, although they are often not as severe. They include pain, stiffness and swelling in and around a joint, decreased movement, morning stiffness and tiredness. Redness and pain of the eye may also occur in association with this condition.
